Truth or Dare online

Play Truth or Dare online with three to twelve people. Players take the spotlight in turn, pick truth or dare, and everyone else votes on whether it counts.

That vote is what turns the classic game into one with a winner: you only score if the group accepts it. Wriggling out is allowed, but not free.

How to play

  1. Three to twelve players; the spotlight moves one seat each round.
  2. Whoever is in the spotlight picks truth or dare and gets a prompt from the deck.
  3. Everyone else then votes yes or no on whether it counts. The spotlight player does not vote.
  4. Two points if more than half of the other players say yes. Not voting counts as no.
  5. After eight rounds the highest score wins.

Strategy

  • Strict voting keeps the pace up — if everything counts, points stop meaning anything.
  • A good deck has both: short truths to warm up and dares for later.
  • Truths work better than dares online. A dare nobody can see is hard to judge.

Frequently asked

How do you play Truth or Dare remotely?

Everyone sees the prompt, the spotlight player answers or does it, and the rest vote. It works best with a call running alongside the game.

Can we use our own prompts?

Yes, and it matters more here than anywhere else — generic prompts are always weaker than ones your own group wrote.

What if I do not want to answer?

You do not have to. The group simply will not count it and you score nothing that round.
